Chooi Mey is a partner of the firm’s Litigation Department.

Chooi Mey began her practice in commercial and civil litigation and gained experiences assisting many notable civil litigators in her early practicing years.

In her 14^th year of practice now, she has been involved in both civil and commercial litigation andattended many hearings in Subordinates Courts, High Courts, Court of Appeal and Federal Court and conducted full trials in the Subordinate Courts and the High Courts. Besides than litigation, she also obtained experience in conveyancing matters.

She is proficient in English, Malay and Chinese.

She has extensive experience and expertise in the following areas of practice :-

1. Injunctive application-Fortuna injunction to prevent the presentation of Winding-up proceeding;
2. Banking and financial disputes-more complex banking cases including misrepresentation made by the banks.
3. Company and shareholders’ disputes- appointment of provisional liquidators and oppression action by the minority.
4. Winding-up actions against companies and bankruptcy proceedings.
5. Arbitration and Building Construction Contract disputes-court litigation including application to stay the Court Action pending arbitration.
6. Land disputes and removal of caveats- all manner of land disputes including sale and purchase contract, late delivery of vacant possession, removal of caveats as well as Landlord and Tenant’s disputes.
7. Defamation, Trespass and Nuisance.
8. Probate and Administration matters and Divorce and Matrimonial disputes.
9. Sale of Goods and services and debt recovery cases.
